Mission Statement

St. Clare Inn provides community, care and shelter for homeless women with mental health issues, to support their healing journey.

Vision Statement

St. Clare Inn will provide a network of nurturing places where women will successfully transition into the broader society, through a community model of supportive care.

Core Values

St. Clare Inn is a non-denominational residence. However, as a Franciscan organization, our core values and beliefs are:

  • Respect: The dignity and unique goodness of each human being made in the image and likeness of God. We respect each person's right to self-empowerment.

  • Community: The fullness of each human being is realized in relationship with God, other human beings and the created world. This relationship strives towards a mutual harmony.

  • Wholeness: Each human being is on a journey towards integration of mind, body and spirit. The journey is brought to fulfillment as the human being embodies the hope of emotional, physical and spiritual peace.

  • Service: service is a calling to be a reflection of God for one another. Our service is motivated by love and compassion.

  • Stewardship: As a community our lives must speak to the care, reverence, and appropriate use of the gifts manifest in our created world.
Our Guiding Principles
  • To serve homeless women aged 35-60, the most underserved in our society. Homeless women, unlike men are mostly invisible in our society due to the nature of the feminine person to create a "home" rather than remain visible to the general public. St. Clare Inn provides an alternative to such "homes" by providing each woman with a safe and nurturing environment in which to continue her healing journey.
